GAC Honors Wells with Weekly Award

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist shortstop Greenlee Wells earned Great American Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday.

The accolade, her second of the season, comes after the Bison went 5-0 with Wells leading the way offensively.

She hit .500 with eight hits, seven RBI and five runs scored. Included in that hitting effort was a trio of doubles and two home runs and an impressive 1.063 slugging percentage.

In the process, Wells, a native of Vian, Okla., ran her season home run total to 14, the most in the conference. Wells also has the best slugging mark in the league at .762 and ranks third with 49 RBI.

Her best effort came in game two vs. Arkansas Tech when she went 4-for-4 with two doubles.

This week, Wells and the Bison close their regular season with a single game at Southern Nazarene on April 22 and home series with Southern Arkansas on April 25-26.
