RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist University players
Terry Coner Jr. and
Ricky Brown were voted to the All-Great American Conference Men's Basketball Team on Wednesday.
For each student-athlete, it's their second career honors.
Coner Jr., a sophomore from Birmingham, Ala., went from honorable mention last season to earning All-GAC First Team accolades in 2024-25. The shifty guard ranked eighth in the league with a 15.9 scoring average. He also was slotted seventh in assists (3.6), ninth in steals (1.6) and 18th in free throw percentage (73.7).
During the season, Coner Jr. reached double-digit scoring totals in 18 of 22 games and scored at least 20 points in eight of those. He went for a season-high 28 during the Dec. 14 road game at East Central. Coner Jr. also notched multiple assists 17 times and two or more steals in 11 contests.
For Brown, in his last season on Bison Hill, he earned All-GAC Honorable Mention accolades for the second consecutive season. The Valdosta, Ga., native ranked 14th in field goal percentage (50.0), seventh in three-point percentage (41.3) and was ninth with 2.1 threes made per game. Furthermore, Brown was a solid rebounder, averaging 4.8 boards, the 21st-best total in the GAC.
Brown started all 28 games for OBU and scored as many as 25 points during the Feb. 21 road game with Henderson State. He also made multiple three-point shots over 17 games including draining five deep shots in three different games. During the team's final home contest versus ECU, Brown became the 50th OBU player to score 1,000 in his career as well.
