LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma Baptist senior outfielder
Sammie Greene was named to the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) D2 Players to Watch list on Thursday.
It marks the third consecutive year an OBU player earned recognition on this list. Previously,
Emily Adler and
Kayleigh Jones were selected in 2023 while Jones also was voted on in 2024.
The watchlist is broken down into the eight NCAA regions (Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West) with up to 15 student-athletes represented in each region. The list is compiled and the award is voted on by the elected members of the NFCA Division II All-American Committee with one head coach representing each of the eight NCAA regions.
A part of the Central Region, Greene is one of only three Great American Conference players to make the list.
So far this spring, Greene has been playing at an other-worldly level. She's the GAC leader with 10 homers, a .480 batting average, an .840 slugging mark and on-base percentage of .556. The Clovis, Calif., native also ranks top-five in hits (48), RBI (33), total bases (84) and stolen bases (24).
