SHAWNEE – OBU Baseball is Arkansas bound for a three-game series with Ouachita Baptist.
Oklahoma Baptist Baseball makes the trip to Arkadelphia for a trio of games with the OBU Tigers as the host. The three-game series will begin with a doubleheader on Friday with the first pitch set for noon and Game 2 to follow. The series finale will take place Saturday with another 12 p.m. start time.
Bison Notes
- The green and gold are coming into the weekend off a tough loss to SWOSU in midweek play with a 20-10 final for the Bulldogs in Bison territory. The midweek loss brings the overall record to 16-9 for OBU.
- In the head-to-head with the Bulldogs, Zane Bennett led the Bison with a homer and a triple, totaling five RBI, with one scored run and finishing 3-4 at the plate. Spencer Dickinson went 2-3 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBI.
- Braden Smith and Lucas Schaefer shared the team lead in homers with six-a-piece. DJ Van Atten remains the team leader in total bases (62), doubles (11), hits (36), and batting average (.400).
- Bryant Thornton and David Stuart both sit at 4-2 on the season from the mound. - Ouachita Baptist is 11-14 overall and 8-7 in conference play after taking the series over SNU with a 2-1 final on the weekend. The Tigers took Game 1 with a 16-3 total. The Crimson Storm dominated the Tigers in the second game with a 10-0 shutout. Ouachita Baptist finished the weekend with a 13-1 win over SNU, securing the series in the finale.
- Issac Nowell appears to be one of the leading offensive forces for OUA with a .544 slugging percentage, 49 total bases, three triple, two doubles, 11 RBI, with a .333 batting average.
- Garrett Graham leads the Tigers in homers (5), RBI (22), and on-base percentage (.407). Wesley Scott is another big contributor for OUA with seven doubles to lead the Tigers. Scott has compiled 39 total bases, three homeruns, and a .448 slugging percentage.
