Oklahoma Baptist Dominates RiverHawks, 12-2

TAHLEQUAH - The Oklahoma Baptist Bison powered past Northeastern State with a commanding 12-2 win on Tuesday at Rousey Field. A combination of strong pitching, timely hitting and patience at the plate led the Bison to their 15th win of the season.

OBU broke the game open in the third with a three-run double from Spencer Dickinson, giving the Bison an early 3-0 lead. They continued their offensive surge, scoring in five consecutive innings, including a two-run homer from Dickinson in the sixth.

The Bison lineup displayed remarkable discipline at the plate, drawing 14 walks while collecting 10 hits. Jesse Tisdell led the charge with three hits and two RBI, while Matt Marsic added a pair of hits, including a double. Dickinson had a standout performance, going 2-for-5 with five RBI.

On the mound, Oklahoma Baptist's pitching staff was stellar, limiting Northeastern State to just four hits while striking out 10 batters. Starter Marcus Peters (2-0) earned the win after two scoreless innings, while a strong bullpen effort from Jalen Johnston, Logan Kimbro, Javarian Roquemore, Nick Meyer and Ayden Wood shut down the RiverHawks' offense.

Northeastern State struggled to find momentum, scoring their only runs in the third and sixth innings. Mason Ruiz provided one of the few bright spots, collecting a double and scoring a run. Pitcher Holden Yaksick (1-2) took the loss after allowing three runs in 1.2 innings.

Oklahoma Baptist added three more insurance runs in the eighth, sealing the dominant victory. Next on the schedule for the Bison is GAC series at home against Henderson State starting on March 14 at 6 p.m.
