OBU Women Have Strong Showing at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – They may have competed in just five events, but for a handful of Oklahoma Baptist women's track and field members, they delivered several quality finishes at Texas A&M's Charlie Thomas Invitational over the weekend.

The best performance was delivered by the 4x400 relay team of Asia Foster, Delaney Riekert, Mary McKey and Kimberly McKinney. That group took fourth with an NCAA provisional time of 3:44.07.

Foster later delivered a personal-best time and provisional mark in the 400-meter run, crossing the finish line in 54.50.

OBU's next NCAA provisional marks were secured by Jamora Horace and Anisha Henderson. In the high jump competition, Horace placed seventh with a jump of 1.68m (5-6.0). Then, Henderson took ninth in the long jump, reaching of 5.80m (19-0.5).

McKinney also added a 19th-place finish in 800-meter run (2:13.87) while Kaylen King took 25th in the mile (5:14.74).

Next week, Oklahoma Baptist will compete at Pittsburg State's Gorilla Classic on Feb. 14 and also take part in Washburn's Ichabod Invitational on Feb. 14-15.
