Bison Women’s Basketball falls to conference leader Harding Thursday night

SHAWNEE – OBU Women's Basketball went head-to-head with Harding University to start off the weekend's action, but the gold and black proved why they maintain first place in the GAC.

Oklahoma Baptist faced a hard four-point loss to Harding after an all-out battle on Bison Hill. The Thursday night meeting saw the visitors claim victory with a close 71-67 final. 

OBU totaled five blocks, four steals, 18 assists, and 32 rebounds. The green and gold shot 44.4% from the field, 26.1% from the three and a perfect 5-5 from the line. The Bison tallied 34 bench points and 26 points in the paint.

Mackenzie Crusoe led the green and gold with 22 points on the evening, going 8-15 from the field, 2-5 from the three and 4-4 from the line. Crusoe also led the pack in rebounds with six in total. 

Sierra Copeland was a major defensive force for OBU with three blocks. 

Jaedyn Getman was the second-best scorer on the evening with 14 points at 6-9 from the field, 1-3 from the three and 1-1 from the line. Getman tallied three rebounds and four assists. 

Jill Leslie was another strong contributor leading the team with two steals. Leslie also added a blocked shot, three rebounds, and two assists. Leslie posted double-digits in points going 50% from the field, and 2-6 from the three to total 10 points.

Up next for OBU Women's Basketball, the green and gold will return to Noble Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. meeting with Arkansas Tech as the Bison look to fight their way back into the win column.
