Bison Baseball stuns Bulldogs with large victory over SWOSU in 7 innings

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – OBU Baseball derails Southwestern Oklahoma State with big run-rule victory to open the weekend series in Weatherford.

Oklahoma Baptist Baseball demolishes SWOSU offensively with a huge 19-7 final over the Bulldogs ending in seven innings. 

The Bison dismantled SWOSU with a total of six home runs, two triples and one double. One stolen base an 18 RBI later, the green and gold secured the first game of the series in a big way. 

Braden Smith got back to work at the plate again with another two-home run game, marking his second in a row to tally not one but two bombs. Smith went 2-4 at the plate with four RBI and two runs. 

Zane Bennett, Lucas Schaefer, DJ Van Atten and Jesse Tisdell each left the yard as well. 

Bennett finished 3-5 at the plate with three RBI, and three runs.

Schaefer went 2-5 at the plate with a triple, four RBI and one run.

Van Atten was 1-2 at the plate with two RBI and three runs.

Tisdell was 4-6 at the plate with three RBI and three runs.

Spencer Dickinson added a triple for the green and gold as well, going 2-4 at the plate with two RBI, and two runs scored. 

Matt Marsic added a double for OBU, finished the day at 2-4 from the plate with two runs scored. 

David Stuart (W, 3-1) got the win for the Bison 4.0 innings on the mound, giving up seven earned runs on 11 hits. Stuart walked a pair and struck out three. 

Jalen Johnston went 2.0 inning on the mound, giving up no runs, and one hit while walking a pair and striking out a couple. 

Logan Kimbro came in as the closer for the green and gold with 1.0 inning on the bump, giving up no runs, and one hit while walking none and ending the evening with zero strikeouts.

The Bison will face the Bulldogs for a doubleheader Saturday beginning at noon with Game 3 to follow.
