SHAWNEE – OBU Baseball is Weatherford bound for a three-game series with Southwestern Oklahoma State with a Friday 2 p.m. first pitch.
Oklahoma Baptist Baseball has weekend action set in Weatherford with Game 1 Friday at 1 p.m. and a doubleheader on the slate for Saturday with a 2 p.m. first pitch and Game 3 scheduled to follow.
Bison Notes
- In the most recent game for OBU, the green and gold came up with a massive 17-7 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State in seven innings of play.
- The game against the Savage Storm saw the Bison total eight home runs, the most bombs in a single game since the 2023 season where OBU totaled nine. Jayden Shafer and Braden Smith led the green and gold with two homer each. Matt Marsic, Spencer Dickinson, and Keenan Morris also added to the home run total for the Bison. Dickinson and Morris also contributed doubles.
- The catcher for the Bison, Smith, has really kicked things into gear offensively in the last couple of games for OBU with three homers, after claiming his first of the season in the 19-11 win over UAM. Smith went 1-2 at the plate with three RBI in the Game 3 matchup with UAM. The win over SE saw Smith go 2-4 at the plate with both hits in the form of a homer, totaling four RBI on the afternoon to lead the offensive efforts for OBU.
- In the three-game series against UAM, Jalen Johnston showed up for the Bison on the mound with two appearances to earn his first two wins on the season this past weekend. With 3.0 innings on the mound, Johnston gave up no runs on one hit, walked three and struck out two.
- The previous back-to-back wins move the Bison to 9-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play with a 6-1 mark at home, 2-2 away and 1-2 on neutral ground.
Bulldog Notes
- The most recent action for SWOSU brought a trio of losses to Harding with a total of five runs in all three games. The Bulldogs are 8-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play. SWOSU is 8-2 at home and winless on the road.
