ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Bison Women's Basketball totaled 19 three-pointers for second highest all-time performance and best in the DII Era, earning the most wins in a season in a decade.
Oklahoma Baptist Women's Basketball had a record-breaking night against the Ouachita Baptist Tigers, totaling 19 three-pointers for the second highest all-time performance and the best performance in the Division II Era. The all-time three-pointers made in a game at OBU came from the Dec. 7 meeting in 1998 when Bison Women's Basketball played Rhema Bible, totaling 20 three pointers.
The win over the Tigers also brought the Bison to a 18-8 overall record and a 14-6 conference mark, earning the most wins in a season in the Division II Era, and the most since the 2014-2015 season when the green and gold went 27-6 overall.
In the Sunday afternoon matchup, Oklahoma Baptist went 45.5% from the field (30-66), 48.7% (19-39), and a perfect 12-12 from the line.
The Bison totaled 45 bench points, 13 fast break points, 14 second chance points, 16 points in the paint, 14 points off turnovers. In the opening stanza, Oklahoma Baptist scored 22 points. The second quarter saw 30 points tallied, going into halftime with a 52-31 lead for the visitors. In the third frame the Bison got back to work with 24 points, and 15 points in the final quarter.
With 57 points from the three alone, five Bison made their way to the double-digit point range.
Mackenzie Crusoe totaled 19 points going 5-8 from the three, 6-12 from the field and 2-2 from the line. Crusoe also tallied one block, one steal, one assists.
Katelyn Davis was another key player for OBU with 17 points on the night, going 6-9 from the field, 3-5 from the three and 2-2 from the line. The freshman also compiled six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal.
Jaedyn Getman totaled 16 points at 5-9 from the field, 4-5 from the three and 2-2 from the line. Getman tallied six rebounds, five assists, and one block.
Parker Stevenson compiled 15 points at 5-11 from the field, 3-8 from the three and 2-2 from the line. Stevenson added three rebounds, four assists and two steals.
The green and gold will complete their road campaign on Feb. 27 at Southeastern Oklahoma State at 5:30 p.m. The final regular season game for the Bison will take place in Noble Complex on Saturday, March 1 at 5:30 p.m. against the East Central Tigers.
