MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Bison Baseball finished the weekend 1-2 after taking the opening game of the series and falling short in the final two meetings.
Oklahoma Baptist Baseball began conference action Sunday afternoon with a 1 p.m. series opener ending in favor of the green and gold, 3-0. Game 2 followed, this time seeing SAU on top, 4-3 in eight innings.
Monday's meeting ended in favor of the home team, seeing the Muleriders claim the series with a 7-1 final in Game 3.
Oklahoma Baptist totaled one run on three hits with one error while Southern Arkansas tallied seven runs on nine hits with one error.
The lone run for the Bison came across in the top of the eighth inning.
The Muleriders compiled a trio of runs in the third, another couple in the fifth and their final two runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Ryan Turbeville (L,1-2) faced his second loss of the season in 4.1 innings on the mound, giving up five runs on seven hits with five earned runs, one wild pitch and hitting one batter. Turbeville totaled three strikeouts and walked one batter.
Marcus Peter came in for 2.2 innings giving up no runs on no hits, totaling two strikeouts and walking two, with one balk.
Javarian Roquemore closed out the game for the Bison with 1.0 inning on the mound, giving up two runs on two hits with two earned runs. Roquemore tallied two strikeouts and walked one.
Lucas Schaefer had the only RBI for the Bison.
DJ Van Atten had the lone double for OBU, going 1-4 at the plate.

Jayden Shafer and Van Atten compiled the three hits for the green and gold as Shafer tallied the single run.
The next schedule event for Bison Baseball was a midweek meeting with Pittsburg State on Tuesday, Feb. 18, but inclement weather called for the matchup to be postponed.
Next up for the green and gold is a three-game series against Arkansas-Monticello beginning Friday, Feb. 21 at 5 p.m. in Shawnee. Saturday will see a doubleheader with a 1 p.m. first pitch and the series finale to follow.
