RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist women's track and field member
Asia Foster was selected as the Great American Conference's Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.
The honor stems from her performance in the 400-meter run during Texas A&M's Charlie Thomas Invitational last weekend at College Station.
A freshman from Bridgetown, Barbados, Foster took eighth place in the 400 with a time of 54.50. That not only was good for eighth place in that event, it was an NCAA Provisional mark and a personal-best.
Also of note, Foster was a part of the 4x400 team that placed fourth at the invitational with a provisional time of 3:44.07.
This coming weekend, OBU will compete at Pittsburg State's Gorilla Classic and Washburn's Ichabod Invitational.
