Hacker Selected as GAC Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist freshman Haley Hacker was voted as the Great American Conference's Softball Player of the Week on Monday.

She's just the sixth Bison freshman to earn the honor since the program joined the GAC in 2016.

Last week, the utility/pitcher from Prague was absolutely sensational during the UCO/OC Classic in Edmond.

She batted a team-high .615 with eight hits, two doubles, two homers and seven runs driven in. Hacker also produced a 1.231 slugging percentage, scored five runs and tallied 16 total bases.

Hacker had two impactful games. Against the previously unbeaten Bronchos, Hacker went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI. Then against Western New Mexico, she posted a 3-for-3 line, three runs scored and four runs batted in. With that performance versus the Mustangs, she became the first freshman in OBU's D2 history to post a stat line with those totals in a single game.

OBU will be back in action on Feb. 14 in Shawnee against Fort Hays State and Washburn.
