MONTICELLO, Arkansas – The green and gold secured a late comeback win over Arkansas Monticello to split the week on the road.
OBU Women's Basketball flipped the tables on the Blossoms with a late turn around to take down UAM with a 71-62 victory.
The first stanza ended with an even 15-15 score. The Bison fell behind with a 32-29 lead for Arkansas Monticello headed into halftime. UAM came out hot in the third quarter totaling 21 points to OBU's 17. The final frame saw the green and gold come alive with 25 points, while holding the Blossom's to nine points, closing out the afternoon matchup at 71-62 in favor of Oklahoma Baptist.
Collectively, the Bison totaled seven steals, 11 assists, two blocks and 32 rebounds. The green and gold shot 45.5% from the field, 35.7% from the three and 68.8% from the line. OBU compiled 24 points in the paint, 21 bench points, 15 fast break points and 15 points off turnovers. The 40-minute battle consisted of seven ties and three lead changes.
Parker Stevenson had her best performance of the season, totaling 18 points to lead the green and gold. Stevenson compiled six rebounds, two steals and two assists while shooting 70% at 7-10 from the field, and 4-7 from the three.
Mackenzie Crusoe was another big contributor with 15 points, going 4-9 from the field, 1-3 from the field and 6-7 from the line. Crusoe totaled five rebounds, six assists and two steals.
Sierra Copeland and
Katelyn Davis each added a block to contribute to the OBU defensive efforts.
