Bison Come Up Short in Magnolia

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist (5-3, 1-1 GAC) fell 62-58 to Southern Arkansas (5-3, 1-1 GAC) on Saturday afternoon inside W.T. Watson Athletic Center.

The matchup featured seven ties and six lead changes in a tightly contested battle. After trailing 17-10 at the end of the first quarter, OBU surged in the second, outscoring SAU 23-15 to take a 33-32 lead into halftime. The Muleriders responded in the third, holding the Bison to eight points and building a 47-41 advantage. OBU trimmed the deficit to three late in the fourth, but SAU converted at the free-throw line to seal the win.

Oklahoma Baptist shot 37.5 percent from the field and hit six three-pointers, while Southern Arkansas finished at 38.8 percent and went 22-of-28 from the stripe. SAU controlled the paint (34-22) and scored 19 points off turnovers.

Jordyn Anderson led all scorers with a career-high 22 points on 7-of-8 shooting, adding five rebounds and eight free throws. Jaedyn Getman posted 10 points and nine boards, while Katelyn Davis contributed nine points from beyond the arc. Off the bench, Parker Stevenson chipped in seven points and six rebounds.

For SAU, Blythe Crawley paced the Muleriders with 15 points, and Kadia Ward added 11.
