Bison Fall In Weatherford
WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist (5-4, 1-2 GAC) fell 69-57 to Southwestern Oklahoma State (3-5, 1-2 GAC) on Thursday evening inside the Pioneer Event Center.
The game featured five lead changes and two ties, but SWOSU used a strong second quarter and timely shooting to take control. After OBU led 18-16 at the end of the first, the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Bison 16-6 in the second frame to grab a 32-24 halftime advantage. SWOSU extended its lead to 54-39 after three quarters and held off a late OBU push in the fourth.
OBU shot 33.3 percent from the field and hit 11 three-pointers, but SWOSU dominated the glass with a 51-29 rebounding edge and converted 19 second-chance points. The Bison scored 16 points off turnovers and added 13 fast-break points, but couldn't overcome SWOSU's 30 points in the paint.
Prominent Performers
· Katelyn Davis led OBU with a career high 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including six triples, and grabbed eight rebounds.
· Jaedyn Getman added 17 points and five boards, while Jordyn Anderson chipped in six points and three rebounds.
· For SWOSU, Landry Allen and Sincere Jackson paced the offense with 16 points each, while Elle Papahronis posted a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds.
