ADA, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist (7-4, 3-2 GAC) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 72-62 road victory over East Central (5-4, 1-4 GAC) on Thursday night inside Kerr Activities Center.
The Bison dominated the opening quarter, shooting 62.5% from the field and building a 24-9 advantage. OBU extended its lead to 42-25 by halftime behind balanced scoring and strong defense. East Central made a push in the third, trimming the margin to single digits after a 20-point frame, but Oklahoma Baptist responded with timely buckets in the fourth to seal the win.
OBU shot an impressive 50.8% overall and connected on eight three-pointers while holding ECU to 38.1% shooting and just 26.3% from deep. The Bison controlled the paint with 38 points inside and added 15 fast-break points. Bench production was key as OBU tallied 20 points from reserves.
Jaedyn Getman led the way with a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Jordyn Anderson added 15 points and four assists, while Katelyn Davis chipped in 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting. Brianna Jones provided a spark off the bench with nine points.
