 Getman Leads Bison Past Javelinas

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Oklahoma Baptist extended its winning streak to four with a 68-49 victory over Texas A&M–Kingsville on Friday afternoon at Bill Greehey Arena.

The Bison (4-1) overcame a slow start, trailing 9-7 after the first quarter, before erupting for 22 points in the second frame to take a 31-21 lead into halftime. From there, OBU controlled the game, outscoring the Javelinas 24-11 in the final period to seal the win.

OBU shot 46.4 percent from the field and 84.6 percent at the free-throw line while holding TAMUK to 30.2 percent overall and just 19.4 percent from three-point range. The Bison also dominated the paint with 40 points and turned 21 turnovers into 21 points.

Jaedyn Getman paced the offense with 32 points on 13-of-20 shooting and added 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Jordyn Anderson contributed eight points and two steals, while Parker Stevenson provided nine points off the bench, going 4-for-4 at the stripe. Brenna Butler and Katelyn Davis combined for eight points and seven boards to round out the balanced effort.

OBU's bench chipped in 17 points, and the team finished with 15 fast-break points and 10 second-chance points.
