Udoumoh, Madrid Lead Bison In Win
BETHANY, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist stayed perfect on the young season with a convincing 94-76 victory over Mary on Saturday night at the Sawyer Center.
The Bison came out firing, shooting 57.6 percent in the first half to build a 48-34 lead at the break. OBU dominated the paint early and never trailed, converting turnovers into points and controlling the glass. By game's end, the Bison had racked up 50 points in the paint, 17 second-chance points, and 27 points off turnovers.
OBU's offense remained efficient throughout, finishing at 54.7 percent from the field and scoring 94 points despite hitting just five three-pointers. The Bison also outrebounded Mary 43-28 and got a big boost from their bench, which contributed 24 points.
Joshua Udoumoh powered the attack with 22 points, nine rebounds, and three steals, while
Erik Madrid was nearly flawless, scoring 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting and adding five boards and two block.
Terry Coner Jr. chipped in 19 points and two assists, and
Austin Coner provided balance with 11 points and five assists off the bench.
Jackson Greene added eight points and four rebounds, while
Christian Hodge grabbed six boards and scored six points.
The Bison (2-0) will look to keep rolling in their next matchup against Missouri Southern on Nov. 20 at the Pittsburg State Classic in Pittsburg, Kansas.
