SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist (17-7, 9-3 GAC) delivered a dominant performance Thursday night, sweeping Southeastern Oklahoma State (7-17, 2-10 GAC) in straight sets (25-11, 25-15, 25-17) inside the Noble Complex.
The Bison came out firing, hitting a blistering .500 in the opening set and never looked back. OBU out-hit the Savage Storm .362 to .096 for the match, racking up 45 kills to Southeastern's 26 while committing just seven attack errors.
Rylee Unruh led the Bison with 10 kills on a .357 hitting percentage and added 11 digs for a double-double.
Melody Donegan was nearly unstoppable, tallying 10 kills on just 15 swings for a .600 hitting clip.
Allie Stricker also contributed 8 kills and 4 block assists, while
Mackenzie Frazee added 6 kills and 2 total blocks in just two sets of action.
Setters
Emily Boyer and
Madi Barnes orchestrated the offense with 19 and 16 assists, respectively. Boyer also chipped in 13 digs and two service aces.
Karsyn Hunter and
Elle Parisi anchored the back row with 11 digs apiece, while
Lillian Noble made her presence felt at the net with 4 total blocks and a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage on 2 kills.
The Bison defense held Southeastern to a .096 hitting percentage, forcing 15 attack errors and limiting the Storm to just 26 kills across three sets. Noelia Rocha led Southeastern with 8 kills, while Jasmin Dion dished out 23 assists and added 8 digs.
Oklahoma Baptist returns to action on Tuesday in Weatherford to take on the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs at 6 pm.
