Hellmuth Moves Full-Time Into OBU Compliance Office

SHAWNEE -- Avery Hellmuth, an Oklahoma Baptist Volleyball alum, entered into full-time employment as the athletic department's Director of Compliance in December of 2024.

Hellmuth represented the Bison on the court for five years, receiving athletic and academic recognition. Named the 2020-21 GAC Freshman of the Year, Hellmuth went on to earn All-GAC recognition three more times. The Dallas native also aided the program to multiple conference championships.
 
In the classroom, Hellmuth was a two-time GAC Elite Scholar Student-Athlete and three-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree. Hellmuth graduated from OBU with her bachelor's degree in May of 2024 and is currently working toward an MBA in Sports Management at OBU. 
 
During her career, Hellmuth was highly involved in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as the OBU SAAC President and GAC SAAC President from 2022-2024. Hellmuth currently serves on the Executive Team of NCAA DII SAAC, representing thousands of student-athletes in the Division II governance structure. 
 
Hellmuth began working for OBU Athletics as a Graduate Assistant for Compliance beginning in June of 2024. During this time, she assisted with eligibility and developed the OBU Athletics Mental Health Policy and Action Plan.
