Landen Francis,
Andrew Sawyer and
Austin Vincent were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
For Sawyer, he's now a two-time recipient of the honor.
To qualify, a student-athlete had to have possessed at least a 3.50 grade point average, been of sophomore standing and have legitimate playing credentials which included playing in 90 percent of the team's contests.
Francis, a sophomore linebacker and sports management major from Prescott, Ariz., played in 10 games this past season and recorded 15 stops with 1.5 tackles-for-loss.
Helping the offensive line was Sawyer, a junior, pre-allied health human performance major. The Elmore City, Okla., native started in all 11 contests and helped the Bison eclipse 300 yards of offense in five games this fall including a season-best 404 at Arkansas-Monticello on Nov. 2. Sawyer also helped OBU to the to the fourth-best passing offense (174.7 ypg) in the GAC.
Rounding out OBU's honorees was Vincent, a native of Norman. The finance major ranked fourth on the team with 53 tackles. He also added 5.0 tackles-for-loss, 2.5 sacks and a pair of quarterback hurries.
This now marks the third straight year that at least three Bison were honored. The most honorees to date was in 2022 when eight were awarded.
