OBU Women’s Basketball destroys SWOSU in Saturday night beatdown

SHAWNEE – Bison Women's Basketball evens the score against the Bulldogs with a huge 31-point win over SWOSU.

After a disappointing two-point loss in Weatherford earlier this season a vengeance fueled OBU team put down the Bulldogs with a massive 83-52 final in Noble Complex.

The Bison managed two 25-point quarters to bury the visitors early on. Up by six at the end of the first quarter. The green and gold kicked things into gear, totaling 25 points to SWOSU's 13, giving the home team a 43-25 lead headed into halftime. 

OBU remained hot with another 25-point quarter right out of halftime while holding the visitors to 10 points in the third stanza. The final frame saw the Bison relax a little with 15 points in the fourth to bring the total to 83 on the night for the green and gold with SWOSU compiling 52 points.

A fantastic night of scoring for the home saw OBU go 50.8% from the field at 31-61, 48.3% from the three and 7-8 from the line. The green and gold amassed seven blocks, seven steals, 43 rebounds, and 19 assists. The Bison totaled 32 points in the paint, 19 points off turnovers, 23 fast break points, and 27 bench points.

Payten Conde had arguably the best night of her collegiate career so far at 6-6 from the three, and 6-7 from the field for 18 points. Conde also contributed seven rebounds, five assists and two blocks to the OBU's efforts. 

Mackenzie Crusoe earned her third consecutive game in Noble with 20 points or more, totaling 20 on the evening. The Choctaw, native, went 8-13 from the field, 2-3 from the three and a perfect 2-2 from the line. Crusoe tallied four assists and three steals to close out the night. 

Parker Stevenson was hot tonight at 5-6 from the field, 2-3 from the three and 1-1 from the line for 13 points overall.

Katelyn Davis had another good outing with 11 points after going 3-7 from the field, 3-5 from the three and 2-2 from the line with two blocks as well. 

Next up for the green and gold is another week of action in Arkansas. Thursday night will see OBU take on Southern Arkansas University at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday's action will see the Bison face Arkansas Monticello with a 1 p.m. tipoff time.
