OBU Basketball unstoppable at home after double-digit domination over Henderson State

SHAWNEE – The ladies in green and gold claimed their 12th win this season, matching their total wins in the previous season, after a takedown of the Reddies on Bison Hill. 

Oklahoma Baptist Women's Basketball is on a hot streak after claiming back-to-back wins at home to defend their spotless record in Noble Complex. The win over Henderson State brought the overall mark to 12-4. The previous season saw the Bison finish the season with a total of 12 wins. The ladies in green and gold have 12 games left on the regular season schedule. 

Saturday afternoon saw the Bison host the Henderson State Reddies for a conference matchup that would end in a huge way for OBU. The green and gold dominated the Reddies with a 75-56 total to close out the run at home for Oklahoma Baptist, finishing the week 2-0.

The green and gold had a great day shooting going 53.3% from the field in the opening frame and 68.75% from the field in the third frame for an overall field goal percentage of 45.2%. The Bison saw the same success from the three shooting 50% in the first quarter and 60% in the third stanza. OBU finished 11-12 from the line. 

Oklahoma Baptist totaled 38 bench points, 38 points in the paint, six blocks, five steals, 13 assists and 42 rebounds. 

Mackenzie Crusoe led the scoring efforts for the home team with 22 points, going 7-11 from the field, 2-4 from the three and a perfect 6-6 from the line. The graduate student also tallied one block, one steal and four rebounds. 

Katelyn Davis had another great outing with double-digit points. With 10 points on the afternoon, the freshman went 3-6 from the field, 2-5 from the three and a perfect 2-2 from the line.

Sydney Duncan led the rebounding efforts for OBU with six rebounds on the afternoon. Jaedyn Getman was a big contributor as well with three blocks. Getman went 2-6 from the field and 1-1 from the three. 

Next on the slate for the green and gold is a trip to Bethany to take on Southern Nazarene. The Bison will face the Crimson Storm on Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m.
