Errecart’s Second-Round Effort Propels Bison

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – Oklahoma Baptist women's golfer Gimena Errecart turned in an even-par second round and ended up in a tie for 14th during the season-opening Central Region Fall Preview.

The tournament, hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma State, was played at Adams Pointe Golf Club. For the second straight year, Augustana (SD) won the overall team title while the Bison finished in ninth place.

Errecart parred 12 of the 18 holes on Wednesday including earning birdies in two of the last eight. In terms of the Great American Conference individuals in attendance, the sophomore was sixth-best. Over the course of the two days, she shot 77 and 72.

OBU's next-best finishers were Marta Romero Crespo and Sam Lehr. Each finished plus-11 which was good for 39th place. During the final nine holes of the second round, Crespo had a strong finish, going one-over par.

Rounding out the Bison's efforts, Morgan Simmons was slotted plus-13 which placed her in 51st and Rylie Spaulding finished in 66th.

Next week, starting on Sept. 9, the Bison will venture to Muskogee Country Club and compete in the 25th Annual Northeastern State Golf Classic.
