RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist's women's golf team was picked to finish in fifth as the Great American Conference released its preseason ballot this week.
Four-time reigning champ Henderson State was named preseason favorite with 75 votes while Southwestern Oklahoma State and Harding followed in second and third, respectively.
Arkansas Tech's Golden Suns checked in at fourth with 57 points while OBU followed with 49 to round out the top-five.
Helping lead the green and gold this year are
Gimena Errecart and
Morgan Simmons. They averaged round totals of 78.84 and 79.36, respectively, last season for coach
Mike Manlapig who enters his 15th season with the program.
OBU begins its fall season on Sept. 3-4 at the Central Region Fall Preview at Adams Point Golf Club in Blue Springs, Mo. It will be hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma State.
