GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Oklahoma Baptist baseball program was honored with an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award on Wednesday.
There were more than 470 collegiate programs honored.
To qualify, a team must have had a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale during the 2023-24 academic cycle. This past year, OBU generated a GPA of 3.328.
"I'm very proud of the effort our guys put in the classroom," Bison Head Coach
Chris Cox said. "This is one of the best years academically for our program and I hope it continues in the future."
On top of the team academic award, five players earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District accolades:
Nolan Feazle,
William Ellis,
Jacob Campbell,
Bryant Thornton and
Jordan Brewer.
