Ryan Earns Second GAC Honor

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Sophomore Ally Ryan was awarded the GAC's Player of the Week honor after a career weekend at Southwestern Oklahoma State, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

It is the second time she has garnered the conference's weekly recognition this season.

Ryan's bat produced four home runs, eight RBI, and five hits in OBU's sweep of SWOSU. The Frisco, Texas native hit .556 while posting an on-base mark of .636 and a staggering 1.889 slugging percentage.

The sophomore's four knocks on the weekend boosted her season total to 15, breaking the Bison Division II single-season record for home runs. The previous record (14) was set by Dani Davis in 2018.

Ryan went yard in every game of the series, and twice in the team's second meeting. It's the second time she has registered two home runs in a contest this season. Ryan turned in a pair of home runs against Southern Nazarene on March 12.

In the second game of the series, Ryan went 3-for-3 for the third time in 2024 and accounted for four RBI. She has two other games with a trio of connections and is riding a six-game hitting streak.

This season, she is batting a career-best .386 and adds GAC statistical leads in home runs (8th in DII), slugging percentage (.880), and total bases (88). Furthermore, Ryan is second in runs batted in (41) and on-base percentage (.492).

Ryan and company return to play tomorrow in Bethany for a doubleheader against GAC foe Southern Nazarene.
