SHAWNEE – Lily Thompson, a feature twirler and freshman for the OBU Bison Band, came home from the Oklahoma State Twirling Competition on April 27 with the title of Miss College Majorette of Oklahoma.
It was an interesting weekend competing in Enid as there was severe weather. There were tornado sightings and two contest delays to shelter in place. Despite that, Thompson won numerous state titles, including first-place title wins in solo and x-strut events. The culmination of the day included awards for various age groups and skill levels as well as Thompson being named Miss Majorette.
Thompson began twirling at the age of four, winning awards through the years and eventually competing at Notre Dame University in the summer of 2023 before coming to Bison Hill.
