Becker Earns Second Trip to NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Pa. – Morgan Becker was selected to compete at the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships for a second consecutive year, the committed announced on Monday. 

Becker will participate as an individual, one of six chosen from non-qualifying teams in the region. Her journey will start at the Central Region tournament on May 6-8 at the Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  

All participants will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top three (central), five (south), five (west) and five (east) teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championships.

The championships will be held May 21-25 at Orange County National Golf Center in Orlando, Florida. The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 98.

The sophomore was one of two individuals selected from the Great American Conference. Henderson State, Southwestern Oklahoma State, and Harding were the GAC-affiliated teams who made the cut. 

Becker is the first Bison in program history to earn back-to-back invites to the NCAA's event. 

This season, Becker paced OBU with a 75.84 stroke average and a .806 win-loss percentage while posting three top-five finishes. The Southlake, Texas native shot 6-over par or better in four tournaments and fired a tie of the team's best round (72-E) this year. 

Becker's best outing came at the Central Region Fall Preview, where she placed second of 90 participants after shooting 4-over par across two rounds. For her efforts in 2024, she notched a spot on the All-GAC second team. It was her second consecutive all-conference nod. 

A year ago, she nearly advanced to the Championship after finishing sixth at the Central Region tournament. She recorded the highest placing and best card at the event in OBU's DII era, finishing 4-over par after 54 holes of golf. Becker shot rounds of 75-73-72.
