SHAWNEE – In what appears to be a very even playing field, Oklahoma Baptist's STUNT team is heading to Missouri Baptist University in Creve Coeur from April 26-28 for the Division II STUNT National Championship.
The Bison, the No. 2 seed, open competition on Friday against Trevecca Nazarene, the seventh seed. OBU will bring a 10-1 record into the championship meet.
Should the Bison win on Friday afternoon, they'll move on to face either (3) Dallas Baptist or (6) Ashland at 8 p.m. that night.
OBU is no stranger to competing at a high level at the championship. A season ago, they finished runner-up to Davenport University who is this year's No. 1 seed.
Head Coach
Jessica Stiles and her team have one goal in mind: winning the title on Sunday.
"The team has spent the last few weeks perfecting routines and making adjustments from the regular season. Our athletes have been working extremely hard and have proven to be gritty and focused leading up to nationals," Stiles said.
"We like our bracket play and are looking forward to getting back on the mat." This will be the team's first games since March 2 when it defeated University of Texas at Tyler 24-0.
