RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Sophomore thrower
Flora Dupans was tabbed GAC Field Athlete of the Week after an impressive outing over the weekend at OU's John Jacob Invitational, the league announced on Tuesday.
It is her third-career recognition from the conference and second this season.
Dupans drew top-10 finishes in the two events, including a ninth-place nod in the shot put that broke a school record. Her toss of 14.25m (46-9) topped Paige Kannady's all-time mark (14.01m; 45-11.75), which stood since 2015. Nationally (DII), the mark ranks fourth.
The Argentina native added a fourth-place finish in the discus with a personal-best throw of 48.33m (158-7), the second-furthest hurl in school history. The mark also earned a provisional and ranks eighth in Division II.
Dupans and company return to their home track on Thursday for the
Ford Mastin Twilight.
