Jones Earns Fourth GAC Weekly Accolade

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Pitcher Kayleigh Jones was named the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

Jones has now garnered the weekly accolade 17 times in her tenure on Bison Hill.

The Claremore, Okla. native tossed her third no-hitter of the month during OBU's sweep of East Central last week. Jones fanned seven and walked one in the Bison's 4-0 defeat on Friday. A day prior, she collected 11 strikeouts while allowing one hit in OBU's 3-0 shutout victory over the Tigers.

Jones registered 18 punchouts over 14.0 innings and boosted her season record to 13-4.

The senior has seven career no-hitters, and after Friday's feat, broke her school record for no-hitters in a season (2).

This season, Jones has an earned run average of 1.75 and totals the third-most strikeouts in all of college softball (171). Additionally, her six shutouts rank fifth in Division II.
