ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Oklahoma Baptist women's track and field team recorded five top-five finishes and three NCAA Division II Provisionals at Cowley College's Mark Phillips Open on Saturday.
Sophomore
Flora Dupans registered two provisionals, one in the discus and another in the shot put. Dupans claimed second in the discus with a hurl of 48.22m (158-2), the second furthest mark in the nation.
In the shot put, Dupans' 13.88m (45-6.5) throw finished second and stands as the 13
th-best mark in DII. It was also an outdoor PR for the Argentina native.
Also competing in the discus was
Jade Byrd and
Lauren Olson, who placed third and seventh, respectively. Byrd's attempt went 46.22m (151-7), good for a provisional and the seventh-furthest hurl in the country. Meanwhile, Olson posted a mark of 37.74m (123-10). Additionally, Byrd claimed second in the hammer throw with an outdoor PR heave of 48.81m (160-1).
Lastly, freshman
Altyn Bartley collected eighth-place honors in the shot put after a throw of 11.71m (38-5).
