SHAWNEE – OBU Women's Basketball took down the Muleriders to continue their winning streak at home.
The green and gold earned their second win of conference play with a 64-57 final over Southern Arkansas Saturday evening.
With nine ties and nine lead changes, the Bison vs. Mulerider showdown was a battle through and through.
Collectively, the Bison saw their best results in the final quarter of action going 7-11 from the field, 100% from the three and 100% from the charity stripe. The green and gold amassed an astonishing 49 bench points, 28 points in the paint and 15 points off turnovers.
Making her season debut earlier this week,
Jaedyn Getman wasted no time getting back into the groove of things, leading the Bison's scoring efforts with 19 points on the evening. In only her second appearance this season, Getman went 8-17 from the field and 3-3 from the line. The Stratford, Oklahoma, native, made a big impact in a total of only 18 minutes on the floor.
Jill Leslie, a dual athlete for Oklahoma Baptist, also recently made her return to the hardwood for the Bison after the conclusion of volleyball season. Leslie had her best night yet this season with 13 points, and 10 rebounds. In 26 minutes, Leslie went 6-10 from the field and finished with at 50% from the three.
In her first season with the Bison, freshman,
Katelyn Davis, made her presence known with a new career high in a handful of categories. Davis totaled five shots from the field, her new career high in field goals made, to go 5-7 from the field. The Choctaw, Oklahoma, native, also wen 2-3 from the three, her most threes made in a game so far and she also totaled two steals for a new career high.
Bison Women's Basketball will continue their homestand as the green and gold host Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Dec. 12 at 5:30 p.m. As OBU takes on the SE Storm, the Bison will see a Holiday Hoops theme to welcome in the Christmas cheer in Noble Complex with games, prizes, a visit from Santa himself, and more!
