SHAWNEE – A season after advancing to the Great American Conference Tournament championship series, Oklahoma Baptist was picked to finish in fourth in the league's preseason poll announced on Thursday.
Last year, OBU posted a 32-23 record and closed the year winning 18 of 27 contests.
The team that defeated the Bison, Southern Arkansas, was chosen as the GAC's preseason favorite with 10 first-place votes while Arkansas Tech and Ouachita followed in second and third, respectively.
OBU's 2024 campaign is set to start in exactly three weeks on Feb. 1 when it faces Pittsburg State in Edmond during Central Oklahoma's First Pitch Festival at Wendell Simmons Field.
