RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma Baptist, last year's Great American Conference Tournament runner-up, was picked to finish in third after the league announced its preseason poll on Tuesday.
Ouachita claimed the most votes with 31 including three 1st-place nods while Southwestern Oklahoma State, last year's champ, garnered 27 votes as well as a trio of first-place votes. For the Bison, they got 24 votes and a single first-place nod.
The green and gold, which have played in every GAC Tournament Championship (6) since joining the league, have several returners and a few newcomers that are aiming to keep the Bison in the championship hunt.
Most notably, three-time All-GAC honoree
Kaylee Swaner is back as well as ace defender
Asley Baker and goalie
Mia Pendleton, both of whom have been named All-GAC in their careers.
In just 23 days, OBU will start its season at Minnesota State-Mankato. Be sure to follow the team on
