SHAWNEE – The National League East-leading Atlanta Braves acquired former Oklahoma Baptist pitcher Taylor Hearn from the Texas Rangers on Monday.
Up to this point, the 6-foot-6 lefty from Royse City, Texas had spent his entire five-year career with the Rangers. He compiled a 12-15 record with a 5.11 earned run average over 92 career games which included 25 starts.
Originally drafted by the Washington Nationals in the fifth round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft, Hearn helped OBU to the 2015 NAIA World Series, went 9-0 on the mound that year and posted a 3.50 ERA.
