Schroeder Earns Another All-America Nod

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist's Alex Schroeder became just the second Bison to earn three All-America certificates after the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America announced its Division II Postseason All-America Team.

Schroeder, a soon-to-be-senior, joins Dan Pruitt as the only OBU players in the D2 era to earn a trio of All-America accolades.

Voted on to the NCBWA's Third Team as designated hitter, Schroeder put together another solid season for the green and gold.

His 23 homers were fifth-best in the NCAA and led the Great American Conference. The Rocklin, Calif., native also drove in 66 RBI which slotted 28th in the country. Over the last 31 games of the season, he collected hits in 23, including multiple knocks in 14 of those.

Furthermore, Schroeder connected on a season-high three hits four times and drove in four runs in a trio of games. He also smacked two homers in six different contests. By season's end, he batted .300 with 61 hits, 14 doubles and scored 58 runs.

He was a key factor for the Bison who closed the year winning 18 of 27 games and advancing to the GAC Tournament Championship game.
