LARCHWOOD, Ia. – Freshman Morgan Becker opened the first round of action at the NCAA DII Central Region Championship with a 3-over 75, good for a tie at 19th overall.
Becker's inaugural round featured two birdies and a tie for the best stroke average (4.00) of par 4s in the competition.
After shooting 2-over-par on the front nine, Becker cut her strokes by one on the turn to climb the leaderboard. She made par on 7-of-9 holes and sunk a birdie.
