Schroeder Named to ABCA All-Region Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Alex Schroeder's fourth career all-region honor was announced on Wednesday as the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Region Team was released.
 
The junior from Rocklin, Calif., garnered second-team recognition after helping lead the green and gold to a 32-23 record and advancement to the Great American Conference Tournament Championship game.
 
During the season, Schroeder, for the second straight year, continued to show his strong offensive ability. He led the GAC with 23 homers, a mark that was fifth-best in D2. He also drove in 66 RBI which was top-five in the conference and 28th-best in the country. Furthermore, Schroeder ranked third in the GAC in slugging (.719) and 44th in the nation in the same category.
 
One of four OBU players to start every game (55), Schroeder ended up batting .300 with 61 hits, 14 doubles, an OPS of 1.122 and on-base percentage of .403. He also added 58 runs scored.
 
With one season left on Bison Hill, Schroeder ranks third all-time with 44 homers and is 12th with 130 RBI.
