LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma Baptist moved up one spot to No. 18 in the country in this week's edition of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 poll, announced on Tuesday.
The Bison are one of two GAC teams mentioned in the rankings, joining Harding, who was slotted No. 16. The University of Tampa topped the poll after receiving 15 first-place votes.
OBU closed the regular season on a 17-game winning streak after sweeping Arkansas Tech over the weekend. It was the squad's fifth-straight conference sweep.
Oklahoma Baptist, 43-9 on the year with a 28-5 GAC record, locked up the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament on Thursday. The Bison will face the No. 8 seed Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm (24-27, 13-19) in the quarterfinals in Bentonville, Ark.
