LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma Baptist (40-9, 25-5 GAC) jumped two spots in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Top 25 Poll on Tuesday.
The green and gold were slotted No. 21 a week ago but after a three-game road sweep of Henderson State, they were bumped to No. 19.
OBU's rise continues its record-setting season which has produced a 14-game winning streak, tying the previous record set in 1992, and 40 wins. It is the first time in the Division II era (2016-present) that the Bison softball program has reached that win total. Plus, only two other seasons in program history – 2002 and 2014 - reached at least 40 wins.
In 2002, that team attained 43 victories, while 2014's squad Bison racked up 45 wins.
The Bison will return to the field this coming weekend against Arkansas Tech. Dates and times of those games will be announced soon.
