Bison Tied for Fourth After Round One of GAC Championship

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Oklahoma Baptist women's golf team sits tied in fourth place through the opening round of the Great American Conference Championship in Hot Springs, Ark.

OBU shot 35-over-par to tie with Southern Arkansas for the No. 4 slot, while Henderson State led the nine-team field with a 5-over 293.

Senior Hayden Meiser paced the Bison with a 4-over 76, good for a tie at 10th. Meiser's even-par finish on the front nine and two birdies were team bests.

Freshman Morgan Becker trailed in a tie for 15th after an opening-round 79 (+7). She turned in the team's best stretch on the back nine at 1-over-par.

Josie Patterson shot 11-over-par to tie at 25th, while Karlee Holcomb and Valentina Nunez-Butzonitch carded rounds of 85 (+13) and 88 (+16). Holcomb and Nunez-Butzonitch are tied at 31st and 34th, respectively.

OBU returns tomorrow for round two of the GAC's end-of-the-year tournament.
