SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist freshman catcher/infielder
Kennedy Clark was selected as the Great American Conference's Player of the Week on Monday. The honor comes after a sensational three-game performance against Northwestern Oklahoma State last week.
Clark, a native of Richmond, Texas is just the third OBU freshman since 2018 to earn the accolade. Last season,
Samantha Campos was selected on April 25.
During a three-game sweep over the Lady Rangers, Clark hit a staggering .875 with seven hits, a double and a team-high six runs batted in.
In the opener against Northwestern, a 6-4 Bison win, she tallied four RBI on two hits. That RBI total was a personal best, as well as the most by a Bison player this season. Then during the Saturday doubleheader, Clark collected five more hits in six at-bats.
So far through 21 games, Clark is among the best batters in the GAC. She is second in batting average (.455), third in on-base percentage (.500) and third in RBI (21).
