LOUISVILLE, Ky. – For the first time in D2 program history, Oklahoma Baptist found itself ranked in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top-25 Poll.
After receiving votes in three of the previous four polls, the Bison were slotted No. 25 after their series win against then 17th-ranked Southern Arkansas last weekend. Remarkably, the Muleriders are ranked 24th in this week's poll.
OBU is 27-9 this year which includes a 12-5 Great American Conference mark. That latter record has the Bison just a game out of first place with a month to go.
Furthermore, coach
Sam Maples' team has a pair of wins against two other ranked squads: No. 20 Harding and No. 21 Mississippi College.
The Bison will return to the field on March 31 with a GAC doubleheader at East Central.
