Bison, Gorillas Set for Another Matchup

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist and Pittsburg State will meet again, this time on Bison Hill on Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. Earlier this season on Feb. 4, the green and gold dialed up a 21-4 victory against PSU in Edmond.

This will be the fourth all-time matchup with Pittsburg State. OBU holds a 3-0 series advantage and has tallied 46 combined runs in the three previous contests. Additionally, over the past two series contests, the Bison have smacked a total of 10 homers against the Gorillas.

Over the weekend, OBU fell in all three games to Arkansas Tech in its Great American Conference opening series. Those results moved the Bison's record to 3-6.

ATU did not make things easy for the Bison as they held the green and gold to a .198 team batting average. The Wonder Boys' offense got ahold of OBU pitching as well, scoring at least 10 runs in two of three contests.

Heading into this mid-week contest versus PSU, here are the Bison statistical leaders:

Batting Average Slugging Home Runs Runs Batted In Hits

Since Pittsburg State's loss to OBU a couple weeks ago, they have won seven of nine games and hold an 8-3 record. The Gorillas are currently in third place in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
