DALLAS, Texas – The Oklahoma Baptist STUNT team's season-opening debut concluded on Saturday night at the Dallas Baptist Invitational.
OBU started the day falling to California Baptist, the reigning D1 national champion. CBU ended up winning 20-10 but for head coach Jessica Stiles, she liked how her team competed.
"Our coaching staff is extremely proud of how our team competed against the reigning D1/D2 national champions this weekend! Our athletes executed the most elite levels of STUNT extremely well early in the season, in a very close game," Stiles said.
The green and gold, the D2 national runner-ups from 2021 and 2022, then came back to defeat D2 Concordia Irvine to wrap up the weekend with a 3-1 record. The Bison won over the Golden Eagles by a 23-6 tally.
"The team finished the weekend off in a D2 matchup against a great team in Concordia. We are excited to see all this team will achieve this season ahead," Stiles added.
Coming up next week, OBU will have its own invitational at the Noble Complex. On Feb. 23, the Bison will host Dallas Baptist for their Senior Night starting at 7:30 p.m. The following day, Oklahoma State, the reigning club STUNT national champions, will compete versus the Bison. That will start at 7 p.m.
