Bison Reserves Key 87-74 Win Over Rangers

ALVA, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist (5-3, 2-0 GAC) earned its second-straight Great American Conference win on the back of a 40-point outing from the Bison bench that paced an 87-74 triumph over Northwestern Oklahoma State (2-5, 0-2 GAC) on Saturday afternoon.
 
OBU posted its best field-goal percentage of the season at 53.6 percent, while the Rangers shot 46.8 percent from the floor. The Bison also turned in its most efficient mark from beyond the arc this season (11-20), finishing the day 55.0 percent from range.
 
Trevin Wade led Oklahoma Baptist with 16 points on 55.5 percent shooting, including a perfect 4-for-4 margin from range. Wade added three rebounds and two assists.
 
Daniel Ransom and Terry Coner Jr. scored 14 points apiece, good for 28 points of the bench. Ransom only missed one of his field-goal attempts (5-6) while adding six rebounds and two steals. Coner paired the squad's most free throw makes (4) with three boards and an assist.
 
Nathan Wilson brought down a team-high in rebounds (10), a part of OBU's 38-to-20 advantage in the rebounds category. Wilson added 11 points to record his first double-double on Bison Hill.
 
Joshua Udoumoh coupled a game-high in steals (3) with seven points and four rebounds. Furthermore, Ricky Brown scored 11 points, while Ethan Scott charted nine points with three triples.
 
Northwestern held the lead for just 11.7 percent of the game, earned at the 14:14 mark (13-11) in the inaugural stanza. From there, Oklahoma Baptist reclaimed the advantage and never looked back, going ahead by as much as 12 points halfway through the first half.
 
However, the Rangers battled back, fighting within a point (41-40) with a minute remaining. But a couple of Udoumoh free throws gave OBU a 43-40 lead going into intermission.
 
Oklahoma Baptist shot 56.0 percent in the closing frame while outscoring the opposition 44-34. Nine points came from Ransom, while Coner and Wilson pitched in eight points apiece.
 
Oklahoma Baptist will hit the road to Durant next Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. match-up with Southeastern Oklahoma State (5-5, 1-1 GAC).
