Swaner Named to All-Region Team

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist senior midfielder Kaylee Swaner became just the fifth Bison in the Division II era to garner all-region honors after being placed on the D2 Conference Commissioners Association All-Central Region team on Tuesday.

The previous Bison honorees were Katie Fowler (2022), Hannah White (2019), Ruth King (2019) and Kelsey Bumgarner (2019).

Swaner, a native of Rockwall, Texas, put together one of the best seasons by an OBU midfielder ever. Her seven assists led the Great American Conference and was also the second-best single-season total in school history. She also scored a goal and ranked second on the team with 31 shots including 15 on goal.

By the end of the season, she had nine points and moved her career total to 41. That's good for fifth place all-time while her 13 career assists are also slotted top-five.

For her efforts, Swaner was named the GAC's Midfielder of the Year and All-GAC First Team selection. Plus, she helped lead the Bison to the conference's regular-season title and GAC Tournament Title match for the seventh straight season.
